Good and Bad things about websites
Good things about websites:
- Loads quickly
- Has interesting pictures
- Looks attractive
- It is set out in a layout that is easy to read
- Not too colourful
- Hasn't got too much information together
- Has a contents table
- Easy to read
- The space is well used
- The text is easy to understand
Bad things about websites
Bad language
- Annoying adverts
- Too many adverts
- Too many images
- Lots of pop-ups
- Too much information together
- Size of text is too small
- The colour scheme is to bright
- Missing pages or unfinished
- Has repeating information
- No table of contents
- Has viruses
For my website I think I'm going have three or four pages about disasters. Each page will be about a different disaster. The colour scheme will probably be purple, black and red. But when I start to make it, I think I will change the scheme.
Click here for a bad website. It is so colourful and takes along time to load.
Click here for another bad website. It looks bad and the blinking faces are creepy.
This is a good website because it is useful and quite well set out.
What I have learnt from this:
I have learnt that using not too bright colours and about four or five pictures on a website is good because you can read the colours and if you have too many pictures, it will take a long time to load. Also if there is too much text and it is too small, people won't bother reading it and just go to another website.

Communication is important during an emergency so people all over the world can find out what is happening and how they should deal with the situation. Also people can get help faster.
Some forms of communication that were used in recent disasters include texting, news, internet, blogs, emailing, MSN, newspapers, Skype, radios, megaphones, billboards and phone calls.
The essential information that needs to be communicated in an emergency is what happened, where did it happen, who did it happen to, why did it happen, when did it happen, how it happened and how it is effecting the area.
Before an emergency, we need to plan what needs to be communicated and the most efficient way to communicate this information. People usually plan using who, what, where, when, why, how and which questions. There are often trial runs to test if it works.
A wireless card, a telephone connection, computer, PSP, telephone.

We could change the colour of the text and the background.
I learnt how to make HTML tags. They are how to change the text colour,
background, whether it's bold or italic and stuff like that. HTML means Hyper
Text Markup Language. Mr.Hitchman gave us a notepad file. In it , it had
how we could make the text blink. The tags were made and saved on notepad.
I found the last class really fun because of what i managed to accomplish and because I found it easy. Also I learnt that if you made one little mistake it wouldn't work.
