Task 6

For my final web page I'm going to make it about Floods . I chose to do this because today there are lots floods in Asia. I want to inform people why they happen, how they happen and what we can do to help.
To do this project I need to:

• Find more than 4 resources about flooding

I have some pictures about flooding all over the world but I need top get information. I have saved the pictures in my images folder for my web page.

• Designing the logo

My logo is going to be a house underwater with the roof showing

• Designing the home page in Dreamweaver

I have to add the information, pictures and the layout of the pages. The colour scheme also needs to be put together/

• Designing the other pages

I need to put together the information and design the layout of the pages. Also I need to put together the colour scheme .

• Adding all the work to the pages

I need to add the information, pictures, titles and contents table

• Evaluate my work and other people's

Once we have finished the project we need to do this as well as writng the reflection

• Write a reflection
  

Good and Bad things about websites

We discussed the the pros and cons of websites. First we discussed it in groups and then we did it as a class.

Good things about websites:

• Loads quickly
• Has interesting pictures
• Looks attractive
• It is set out in a layout that is easy to read
• Not too colourful
• Hasn't got too much information together
• Has a contents table
• Easy to read
• The space is well used
• The text is easy to understand

Bad things about websites

• Bad language
• Annoying adverts
• Too many adverts
• Too many images
• Lots of pop-ups
• Too much information together
• Size of text is too small
• The colour scheme is to bright
• Missing pages or unfinished
• Has repeating information
• No table of contents
• Has viruses

For my website I think I'm going have three or four pages about disasters. Each page will be about a different disaster. The colour scheme will probably be purple, black and red. But when I start to make it, I think I will change the scheme.

This is a good website because it is useful and quite well set out.

What I have learnt from this:

I have learnt that using not too bright colours and about four or five pictures on a website is good because you can read the colours and if you have too many pictures, it will take a long time to load. Also if there is too much text and it is too small, people won't bother reading it and just go to another website.
